Filtering the 2006 Riesling

The 2006 Riesling has been aging in glass for about a month and instead of racking, I've decided to simply filter the entire batch with #2 pads.

I first soaked the pads in bottled water for a few minutes, and then dumped the first 2L of wine through the filter down the drain (to get rid of any cardboard/cellulose taste).

The filtration took about an hour in total length, and the wine came through crystal-clear. There was quite a bit of aeration during the process, so I'll have to figure out how to do this a little more gently next time -- I don't want the wine to oxidise.
